Hi, I'm Josh Bloom.
A junior at The Haverford School and a Philadelphia native. I founded Philly Service Exchange to solve a disconnect I kept running into while volunteering across the city.

At its heart, Philly Service Exchange isn't just about community service.
It's about connection.
Some of the greatest opportunities for teens, professionals, nonprofits, and entire communities are created when people who would never have met are brought together with a shared purpose.
That's why we built a different kind of service platform.
A nonprofit gains a dedicated volunteer. A teen gains confidence, experience, and guidance. A professional invests in the next generation while meeting remarkable young people whose character has already been demonstrated through service. Those teens, in turn, become leaders who inspire others to give back.
This creates something bigger than a volunteer network. It creates a cycle of opportunity.
Philly Service Exchange only works when three groups come together. Every side benefits when the other two do.
High school students in the Philadelphia area who want their service to lead somewhere real. They serve, they earn, they grow.
Doctors, lawyers, executives, producers, and other experts who donate mentorship time. They fuel the exchange with what they know.
Philadelphia organizations doing meaningful work who partner with us for credibility and dedicated volunteer support.
We envision a future where teens don't build networks through privilege or circumstance. They build them through character, initiative, and a commitment to serving others.
We envision a future where mentorship becomes a natural part of professional life, where giving back is contagious, and where putting good into the world creates even more good for everyone it touches.
Today, we're building that network in Philadelphia. Tomorrow, we hope teens across the country will be building their own chapters the same way, one connection at a time.
